Explore the 2020 Tundra’s Towing Capacity

With the new Toyota Tundra, you have six trim levels from which to choose, each offering the opportunity to customize the perfect truck to meet your needs. The 2020 Toyota Tundra is packed with the latest technology, safety features, and luxury amenities. Test-drive the powerful 2020 Toyota Tundra at Toyota of Rock Hill.

The entry-level SR model comes equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, a 6.5-foot bed, and a rear-wheel drive system. Four-wheel drive is optional across all trim levels. This is one of the most powerful V8 trucks you can get in this price range.

The 4×2 double cab SR or SR5 trim with a 6.5-foot bed has the maximum tow rating available for the Tundra at a staggering 10,200 pounds. With the Limited 2WD double cab outfitted with a 6.5-foot bed, the SR5 2WD CrewMax with a 5.5-foot bed and the SR and SR5 2WD double cab paired to a 8.1-foot bed, you’ll get a towing capacity of 10,100 pounds.

The TRD Pro, SR5, and SR double cab with a 6.5-foot bed have a maximum towing capacity of 9,900 pounds. With the 4WD CrewMax with a 5.5-foot bed with the Limited, Platinum, or 1794 Edition trim, you’ll get a maximum towing capacity of 8,800 pounds.

This special off-roading edition of the Tundra has FOX shocks and a suspension lift. You can choose from the double-cab 6.5-foot bed truck or the CrewMax 5.5-foot bed configuration. The double-cab Tundra TRD Pro has a maximum tow rating of 9,900 pounds, and the CrewMax TRD Pro has a maximum towing capacity of 9,200 pounds. Both of these trucks are available only in 4×4.

Tow/Haul Mode and Deck Rail System

The 2020 Toyota Tundra has a Tow/Haul button to help compensate for heavy loads with improved stopping, steering or pulling power. The system holds the transmission in lower gears longer to deliver the extra power boost you’ll need when navigating mountain roads or long grades. Engine braking helps slow the vehicle when necessary. You’ll get better overall engine response when you use Tow/Haul mode.

The 2020 Toyota Tundra also has an available deck rail system with four fully-adjustable tie-down cleats with a rating of 220 pounds each. The system helps keep even your heaviest cargo secure.

Rugged Engine Options

Every 2020 Toyota Tundra comes standard with a muscular 5.7-liter V8 engine, which delivers 381 horsepower. Every model also has a trailer brake controller and Class IV trailer hitch. There’s no need to worry about building a Tundra to get the maximum tow rating. Toyota doesn’t force engine or transmission upgrades to get more towing power.
